Peppermint Friday Review #48: Love Rosie

I never thought I'd do a review of a Chick Flick or Rom-Com, but I really liked this film and plus the only reason I kinda watched it was that apparently and this is so not me fishing for compliments, but I sorta look like Lily Collins who is Rosie. 

The film is based of the Cecelia Ahern Noval 'Where Rainbows End' and its about two best friends Rosie Dunne and Alex Stewart (played by Lily Collins and Sam Clafin) who have known each other since they were kids. At Rosie's 18th Birthday Party she kisses Alex who realises he really likes her and Rosie just wishes it never happened. Alex then loses his virginity to Bethany (played by Suki Waterhouse) Lily gets asked out by Greg (played by Christian Cooke) the 'fittest guy' in the year and she has sex with him, but the condom slips off inside her. Causing her to get pregnant and puts her dreams of owning a hotel on hold whereas Alex gets a scholarship to Harvard, but Lily doesn't tell Alex that she is now pregnant as she doesn't want to get in the way. 

5 years on from this, Lily now a mum to Katie visits Alex in Boston who now lives with his girlfriend who's pregnant and to put it mildly a complete psycho. Lily tries to talk to him about it as she's concerned he rebuffs her and says that the child that he and his girlfriend are having is gonna have two parents. Lily goes back home and reconciles with Greg who she now marries, Alex splits from his girlfriend after discovering that the baby isn't his. Rosie's father dies and Greg behaves horrifically at the funeral, Alex writes her a letter to tell her how he feels and that she deserves better. Greg finds the letter and hides it from Rosie, Rosie then finds out Greg has been cheating on her, Rosie finds the letter and is about to tell Alex how she feels, but she then finds out Bethany and Alex are engaged to be married and would like her to be the 'best man'. 

Katie and her friend Toby kissed at Alex and Bethany's party, a friendship that mirrors Rosie and Alex's. Alex then realises (finally!) that Bethany was all wrong for her and should've gave the relationship with Rosie a chance. In the end of the film well I don't think I need to tell you as we all know what happens in the end in these films in particular. I love this film the costumes, and for me I can really relate to Rosie not that I have a child which I definitely don't! but in some of the things she's been through and how she is towards her friends and Alex in particular and its the most accurate I feel of Rom-Coms. I know that it's kinda wrong where everyone in her life is beautiful even the 'ugly' moments, when she's pregnant she still looks stunning. 

The acting was all brilliantly done in this film, I know its not meant to be dramatic or anything. What I'm trying to say is it's not like its a Shakespeare or some deep emotional drama so acting for me when I watch it I don't really care about it. I loved the intense, sweet moments between Alex and Rosie throughout the whole film from when they were kids to adults it was always, always there so in the end when they finally get together you almost wanna cellotape them together and make sure noone splits them up because you love them so much. The comedy was perfectly timed aswell, loved the guy in the lift when Rosie is telling Alex about the condom on the phone is in the scene at the end when she has her own hotel and he's like 'Do I know you?' and she was remembering what happened when she was 18 and was like 'noo course not' I loved the use of that and how brilliant it was. 

Minor characters were brilliant aswell, Greg was fantastically written and played. Loved the difference of Alex's love interests to Rosie as they are all blonde and abit clingy, and Rosie is this beautiful brunette and a total opposite to the others and plus the fact that she's a brunette and supposedly looks like me I immediately like her. Rosie is played out as 'that girl' and I think that's why people like her because we can all relate to her and how she is. Plus she's not the Bridget Jones where she wants a man and is abit clumsy, she's a girl with a dream of running her own hotel but things happened and she put it on hold, not because of a man (well it is) but things happen and she does run her own hotel eventually. 

                                                                 
I love this film, the characters, the costumes are pretty aswell and fits with every character wonderfully. Katie was played brilliantly from as a little 5 year old girl and a 10 year old she was brilliant, but 10 year old Katie was amazing played by Lily Laight. You should all watch this film, as you'll love, Love Rosie! It's funny because the people who have told me to watch this film were mainly guys and they also said I'm like Rosie which is a big compliment. Give this film a chance even if you're not into Chick Flicks and Rom-Coms like me, it'll surprise you and you'll love it! I'll see you all later and have a wonderful weekend! 

Peppermint Friday Review #39: Wonder Woman

This review has been a long time coming, as I have been looking forward to watching this film and talking about it because oh wow. 

First of all I was abit nervous not gonna lie as DC in terms of films haven't done aswell as there TV side, and the fact that its the first time a woman led a superhero film since Catwoman which went down like a cup of cold sick, and I think after that people just went 'well noone like female superheroes' which is not the case at all. Its just that Catwoman was done so badly and people just assumed superhero films can only be successful by men which is totally ludicrous. Also the fact that its not only a superhero film being led by a woman but also, an action film being directed by a woman, for me its amazing and I'm so happy it been made. 

I love this film so so so much, oh god I fangirled pretty hard while watching this. The costumes are amazingly done its so beautiful and with such detail I love the fact that the costumes aren't ridiculously revealing but also not looking like a nun. It got Themyscira down to a T it looks so beautiful, I loved all of Diana's family aswell. Watching the film I never got a sense of it being rushed, or overdone it was just wonderful. I think fans of the character of Diana/Wonder Woman will be very impressed at what they've done to the film and the character. Gal Gadot was just amazing as Wonder Woman she gave the character a boost into the modern age at the same time remaining true to the character and what she represents.

Other characters of the film who I loved were Ares who is played by David Thewlis, and Antiope who was played by Robin Wright and they were just brilliant. One amazing thing about this film is that its the first of a big budget mainstream Wonder Woman film, so in terms of characters they can kinda reinvent a whole new character and not have the pressure of a big actor/actress towering over them, apart from Wonder Woman of course. The way they did Doctor Poison/Isabel Maru who is played by Elena Anaya was just brilliant her mouth was just weird and scary I loved it because again never really heard of her as a Villain before.

Steve Trevor who is played by Chris Pine was just fantastic, I loved the bit when he's on the boat back to England with Diana and explains what life is like on Earth and in England and the war, the whole dialogue between them is just brilliant to watch its just so funny and adorable the fact that she's this woman who doesn't know anything about men because Themyscira doesn't have any men so she's abit of an alien. The soundtrack to this is amazing aswell, particularly the song that Sia did for it, its amazing and speaks volume as to what Wonder Woman represents and is about. 

Rumour has it that they are making a sequel to this which I am excited about but also scared because I don't want it to turn into a cash cow, and make them for the sake of it and it being not very good. As a female and someone who loves film and more in particular superheros its so important and wonderful that females are represented not only in film but the behind the scenes aswell. Its such an amazing film with amazing characters that everyone should watch, I hope you all have a wonderful day/weekend and I'll see you next Friday. 

Review: Pearl Harbor

So I've been watching alot of films that people have told me to ages ago, but I never got round to it. This film is one of them, plus it has Kate Beckinsale in and she's an actress that doesn't get talked about enough, well from what I think anyway. Its also a Period Drama set in the 1940s and who doesn't love that? What the film is about is a love triangle between childhood best friends Rafe, Danny, and Nurse Evelyn played by Ben Affleck, Josh Hartnett and Kate Beckinsale, all during the run up and battle and aftermath of Pearl Harbor.

That's basically it, in terms of the story line purpose of it all, its just a love story during the war. The reviews of this film I saw, and the ratings it got on Rotten Tomatoes and IMDB was just ridiculous basically its an either average film or crap film. But don't take that as gospel truth because its a matter of opinion at the end of the day. I do agree its not the best film I've ever seen, I mean I love the costumes but thats a given and the battle action scenes of Pearl Harbor, but again with the budget they had and it was apparently a bigger budget that actual Pearl Harbor itself. I mean that could be hear'say but the money was showing on the screen definitely. 

In terms of characters and storyboard wise, I hated it. I love the actors in this film, I think they're brilliant and have no doubt can act, as I've seen them in better roles and better films. I hated Kate Beckinsale's character Evelyn she was just so wet and she had a really crap personality. I couldn't relate to her and usually I will try to find anything in a character that I can relate to, even a Villian or the Hero but with her I just couldn't. I found her bland and with a love story I don't know about you guys but I wanna fall in love with one of the couples, but I didn't like her at all. The only positive thing I can say about her is first of all its not Kate Beckinsale's fault its the writers, and she looked beautiful in the film her costumes to her hair and makeup, but that's being a model not an actor and in her defence, she's an actor she turned up did the job very well and got paid then went home.

I didn't get Danny and Rafe, they again were extremely bland and irritating brilliantly acted but I hated the script it felt very robotic and it became a little too slick. Some minor characters were just awful, Jennifer Garner played a part of a nurse in this and I didn't like at all, she was this stereotypical awkward nerd and I didn't get what kinda part she played, was it supposed to be comical? Because I didn't find it funny at all. There were some characters that died and not to sound horrible, but I didn't care I didn't like them at all. They all seemed very generic, boring, bland just really crap uninteresting characters. It's gonna sound abit weird but I'm actually glad that I've found a film that I don't like because I always try to find the positive side to films with this I did, but the majority of which I care about films which is the story line and characters both of which this film just lacked in. 

You could tell that this film was trying to be the Titanic of its time, it being a Period Drama and a Romance with a big budget its obvious what it was trying to be. I don't hate that but I just felt with it being Pearl Harbor they could've had more substance to it like they could have given Evelyn more of a backbone and made Danny and Rafe less pushovers. One thing was all three characters were on the same level in terms of strength and blandness. I loved the action scenes but they had to spend money on them because history nerds would throw a hissy fit and a riot would happen saying that 'Its not accurate!' now that does annoy me because of course its not going to be 100% accurate to the event its a film! its done in a filmmakers mind and put out there in a story. If you want accuracy of an event or a person then watch a documentary about it or read a book. Although there was inaccuracy in this film, but I mean again that's gonna happen, just like with book to film adaptations. 

I feel like this film showed me that just because a film has a big budget doesn't mean its automatically gonna be an amazing film. Because with the big action scenes, and the amazing costumes and extras and all that, if the story isn't good and the characters aren't relatable then no matter how big the budget it means nothing if the plot is crap, then its a crap film. Because in my opinion a great film is a brilliantly written story line and fantastic characters, nothing to do with budgets or genres thats how I feel about it anyway. The technicality of the film with the shots and camera technique was brilliant. I love the flip between the panoramic shot to it being from a soldier's perspective or an injured person's perspective. I would've preferred abit more consistency with the shots and camera technique. 

Also and this is gonna make me sound like an old lady but the film was way too long that what it should be, its 3 Hours long and that's quite long in terms of film I think the only film I know that's that long is Lord Of The Rings, but that's based of a book that's huge. I know that this film is based of the Pearl Harbor and is very important in history but I don't think it should take that long. As I've seen War films and they're not that long and have way more added on to them than this film. Overall I liked some aspects of this film, but not the reasons as to why I love films like story line and characters. 

Review: Ghost In The Shell

So we're gonna talk about this film, because its been a while since I watched a good Sci-Fi film. As I heard good reviews about this, and some bad well it riled a few people on twitter when it came out like the first week. I just wondered what it was all about and not too sound like a child but its my blog, I can do what I want. 

The film is based of the Manga, with the same title and it was an anime aswell, and just very popular in Japan. Its set in the distant future and its a world where humans are enhancing themselves by adding robotic parts to it, and it helps with things such as vision, strength. Basically its a future where everyone wants to be a superhero, Mira Killian who was attacked in an incident that led her to have injuries that were difficult to fix, so they use all there technology on her, Which means its technology they haven't properly develop yet, like they used a mechanical body that inter fears with the brain. Its just her coming to turns with that, and being used as a weapon aswell, to an extent its also about her trying to remember her past as that's coming a distant memory more and more. 

I love this film, I had the ignorance of not knowing the anime or manga so that's something that I think is a good thing as I can make up what I think of it, just with a blank knowledge, but I had a feeling this was very anime-esque. As I've said this before, but it needs saying again, anime is very creative and just the media and stories in Japan are churning more and more brilliant stories, just so original and creative. I love the concept of this story so much, its so original and innovative. I love the portrayal of Scarlett Johansson as the main character, I haven't seen Scarlett act that much, my fault because I just haven't seen her in many films I've watched, completely changed now, as I love her and need to watch more of her. 

The criticism this film has is a case of Whitewashing a term which I've only just found what it means, what it means is characters in media portraying characters who are either, Asian or Black, or just any other ethnic background that isn't white, being played by actors who are white. Its a problem that's been seen, for years and it's got to a point where its okay. I don't agree with whitewashing, like for example if a film portrays characters who are of the Indian decent, and you get a bunch white actors to portray them that's something I don't get and doesn't make sense to me at all. But the story doesn't explain that she's Japanese, like we know the story was written by someone who's Japanese, and its set in Japan. That doesn't mean the main character has to be Japanese, but Scarlett Johansson did a fantastic job and if Mira was played by an Actress of the Japanese decent and was brilliant then I wouldn't have an issue at all. 

Other characters I like are Doctor Ouelet who is played by Juliette Binoche I loved her, even though she created Mira like a modern Frankenstein she was very motherly. The costumes and CGI of the film was so beautiful this film is an example of how CGI and Photoshop can be a craft that's mastered, and its a real art form, it was just so beautifully done and best display of CGI and Photoshop I've ever seen in a film. Michael Pitt and Takeshi Kitano were both brilliant again, love their portrayal of two characters they really stood out to me. 

The manga is actually a series and I think theres 3 stories of the manga, so I'm assuming that theres gonna be another film coming out in a few years. I don't know if I'm gonna see it, because I enjoyed watching this I don't know if I'll enjoy a franchise of it, but its only the one film at the moment so you never know. If you love Sci-Fi and anime and very Japanese manga esque then you will love this. If you arn't too keen on CGI and Photoshop and think its very stupid and annoying, and you turn your nose up at it then watch this as it will change your mind about it.

Review: Of Human Bondage

The name does sound abit dodgy, trust me its not a porn its a wonderfully modern story with the fabulous Bette Davis.

The basics of the story is what happens when you fall for the wrong girl, It's about a man called Phillip (played by Leslie Howard) who is in love with waitress Mildred (played by Bette Davis) who is this very vulgar and unlike the sort of woman Phillip would go for. Mildred shows no liking to him, as much as Phillip would show it. Mildred fell for Emil, meanwhile Phillip falls for Norah and tries to get over Mildred. Emil leaves Mildred pregnant and distraught she goes to Phillip for help. 

This story is so modern as Bette Davis as an actress at the time was so dynamic and brilliant, and usually she plays alot of cold, brass women. That's something I love and I find very modern as back then in society it was very much man can be the crazy, angry one, woman can only be sweet, and kind and thats it. So in storytelling I find it fascinating that this character felt so 3D and I just wonder how this story affected the world and women. 

I love the use of the characters like Phillip as he is so sweet and nice, for some reason he loved Mildred. Mildred throughout the film really did like him, she just released her true colours as she moved in with him. Norah said at one point how humans have bondages over people, people they just find themselves attach to, like Philip is to Mildred and that will always happen. One thing that I love about Bette Davis is her voice its so unique and different, again I wonder the huge affect she had on the world at that time in the 1930s. 

The reason I say its a story of what happens when you fall for the wrong girl, its also a case of don't be taken for a mug. Phillip is Mildred's knight in shining armour constantly, from when Mildred's pregnancy, and being abandoned twice by the same man. She is a horrible woman, but I love watching her, and yet I still want her sarcastic, twisted sense of humour, but that's down to the fantastic script writers,  

                                                                
The camera angles of the film are one of the reasons as to why I love this so much. I love how it goes from one shot directly on the face when its a dinner conversation or just a conversation. Especially for facial expressions, as it just made me love the film even more because I don't think many films do that, not even now its all about the shot being on both, capturing both expressions of the actors. Its crazy that this film was made in 1934 with it being so modern and everything, but its even crazier that its based of a book by W. Somerset Maugham which was written in 1915.

There will be a Bette Davis post watch this space, as I need to talk about her, she is just so brilliant I want to be her. Anyway sorry its a bit late but, better late than never and I shall speak to you all tomorrow! 

Peppermint Friday Review #28: Beauty & The Beast

Earlier this week I went to see Beauty & The Beast and thats what I'm gonna talk about today. It has taken the world by a storm and I won't compare it to the Original Animated on entirely as one's live action and the other is Animated, but the story still stands the same, but in this one we get to know about Belle and the Beast's past and there mothers. 

I loved this film so much, Emma Watson plays Belle and I do love Emma Watson she is so beautiful and every inch of Belle brilliant casting. There was something in the back of my mind that just made me go 'hmm i'm not sure' as I personally and still do think this, would love if they got a Broadway Actress to play Belle as she would have been unknown in the film world and knew exactly how to play her and do both the singing and the acting. That's not to say Emma Watson didn't do a good job, she was amazing and I loved her and always will! 

Josh Gad who plays Le Fou was fantastic, in this version Le Fou is gay and has quite a crush on Gaston. Which is something that I don't think people cared about, it actually made me like Le Fou more as in this version he had more depth and more character, rather than in the original. The songs I loved were, Gaston, Be Our Guest, Belle, Something There, all the classics. They got rid of If I Can't Love Her from the Stage Musical so that annoyed me, but they replaced it with two beautiful new songs Days In The Sun and Nevermore.

The costumes were so beautiful and stunning, it was all very fitting for the period and time. Dan Stevens was so charming, the relationship with him and Emma was beautiful. I loved it, even when they turned back into humans, because usually I don't like it and want them to go back to being objects and the beast. The Beast's past was interesting to me, because we all knew that he was an arrogant person who didn't care and had a curse upon him to turn himself into a Beast until someone loves him for who he is.

The Beast's mother was a kind and wonderful person, someone I guess could be very similar to Belle, whereas his Father was in some ways like Gaston. In this version you learn about Belle's mother and what happen to her and I must say I am a little disappointed about that. As I would've liked it to be a bit more dramatic, but it was still wonderful, and well thought out. Overall this film is well worth watching, especially if you loved the Animated Original and the Stage Musicals or just Musicals in general. 

Peppermint Friday Review #24: Pulp Fiction

I think to end this week with one of my favorite films, is a good way to end it plus its just so Peppermint Friday. I love Quentin Tarantino and I know he's either you love him or hate him, and the content he creates may not be for people under a certain age, but silly 14 year old me who didn't listen to my teacher, as we were talking about films, and he mentioned this film and told me not to watch it as its pretty dark, but I didn't listen and boy I'm glad I didn't, and here's why.

Pulp Fiction is told in a narrative structure, at the beginning its a prologue which is in a diner with a couple having a pretty boring conversation. It combines with two hitmen Jules Winnfield and Vincent Vega who are both played by Samuel L Jackson and John Travolta, and Vincent is asked to take care of Mia Wallace, Marsellus wife. Theres a Boxer called Butch played by Bruce Willis accepts money from Marsellus who just so happens to be Jules and Vincent's boss.

The story is so hard to explain, its one of those films you have to watch as its hard to explain, and the storyline is so intricate because Quentin's storytelling is so brilliant, to have someone telling you the plot is so crap to how it is when you actually watch it, its a million times better than someone explaining it to you. That's how I feel with Tarantino films anyway, its one of those things where you just have to watch it to understand it. Tarantino's storytelling is so unique and wonderful, I love how in this film he told it like you would in a novel where you have a prologue, and all the character intertwine with each other and it all makes sense. 

John Travolta and Samuel L Jackson are just brilliant I mean you can't beat them they are just fantastic. Before this film I knew who these actors were, I had a John Travolta in my mind as Danny from Grease but in this film he is quite an average guy, that sounds mean, but comparing him to Danny he is. Samuel L Jackson is so mental in this, I adore him so much. I actually don't know whether to be scared of him or to just laugh along with him. His character does prop up alot in Social Media as a meme so the character is quite a familiar face in the modern age. 

Uma Thurman is a fantastic actress, her costume, her hair, her makeup, her everything is just so perfect and down to a T as to how damaged she is and intriguing qualities to Mia. I mean everyone wants a Mia Wallace haircut at one point let's face it. What does inritate me slightly is that Uma is a fantastic actress, but I haven't seen her in that many stuff. I know she was in a few other Tarantino films, such as Kill Bill Volume 1 & 2, Batman and Robin, Les Miserable. I guess that could be me, it probably is just me the fact that I haven't seen her in many films. 

Bruce Willis is again brilliant, love all the scenes with him and his girlfriend Fabienne particularly those as they stand out to me, and relfect his character the most. Especially when Fabienne forgets to pack his watch, and he just loses it I don't know why but I like it. I remember watching a Simpsons episode and it referenced a scene in Pulp Fiction, and as a kid I watched it then and thought nothing of it, but now that I've seen this film that scene has a whole new meaning to it. One thing I'm so excited to see and just dive into is that Quentin Tarantino has stated that he is gonna retire after making 10 films and he has made about 8 or 9 I think, and people have asked what he's gonna do as he isn't gonna be filmmaking. He's said in interviews that he's gonna write books and make the films he's made into plays, so a Pulp Fiction play, that's something I need to watch and be in. 

 The couple at the beginning of the film are just fantastic, at the beginning you don't think too much about them, like 'yeah okay cool' but as you get to know then, particularly in the last scene in which they appear, thats when shit breaks the fan. Its funny with all the characters in this film you'd think there must be one I hate, and yeah the couple I do like but they do annoy me ever so slightly, not sure why they do, they just do. Its wonderful that the film so brilliant ties everyone together and makes it so exciting to watch.                                                                                                                                                     

This film will knock your socks off, and will no doubt be unique and wonderful to watch and unlike anything you have seen before. Its a Cult Classic you'll see people dressing as the characters whether it be for Halloween/Fancy Dress or for a screening of the film. People have played parodies to the film, homages. Its such a brilliant film, with a strong fan base and possibly my favorite Tarantino film. 

Peppermint Friday Review #17: Persepolis

In my last post I said that this film was going to be not for kids, as its an Animation but believe me it is not by far.

Persepolis was originally a graphic novel written by Marjane Satrapi, and it tells the story of her life through adolescence and her life growing up in the Iranian Revolution. I loved it so much, its so harrowing to watch, and get into. Now before I didn't know that much about the Iranian Revolution, but watching this film from a first person narrative, and to do it in such a beautiful way is wonderful. 

The artwork is so unique and unlike anything I've seen before, like I said this film is not for kids when I mean kids I mean 12 and younger. As some people might not be affected by the themes and the language of the film, as it is a true story and from what Marji goes through its something no kids should watch. From wonderful free country Marji use to live in she's is then striped from her home Iran and moved to Austria where again she's moved from house to house. 

You see Marji experiencing different views, and being political and seeing the beautiful country with lots of political and strong views on certain things. One of my favorite bits was where Marji was waking around with her head scarf on and she's got a 'Punk Is Not Ded' T-Shirt on, and it makes me smile where despite the War that's gone on, and how much everything in her life has changed, she still remains punk rock.

This film is amazingly done, and I loved every bit of it. Its so beautiful the artwork, the dialogue is perfect it fits in so well. To see Marji grow up and her change overtime, and what she believes and everyone in her family to be affected by everything that goes on in Politics, the War, Iranian Revolution. 

                                                       
I strongly urge everyone to watch this film as its so funny, sweet, heartbreaking and serious everything I love. Next week will be so much fun, as I'm going back to watching some gorgeous film noir. I hope you all have a wonderful and relaxed weekend.

Peppermint Friday Review #16: The Lady In The Van

Its been a week, sorry about that Christmas happen. Hope you all had a good one, I'm gonna talk about this film which is one of my favorites. 

I don't know why I didn't see this film up til now, because its really good. Its about Allen Bennett (who wrote this story) who lives in Camden with an old lady who lives in a van on that road, well I mean the title speaks for itself. Its the question of who is this woman? Why does she live in a van? What has she done? Its so personal and bonkers at the same time. Maggie Smith is brilliant, well she always is really a big inspiration of mine, she captures Mary Shepard (real name Margaret Fairchild) fantastically to the point where I can't see anyone playing her except her. 

What I loved the most about this film is the distinguish between writer Allen and everyday Allen, because in a way it does capture being a writer or just someone alone and creative that doesn't have that much human interaction. Where he just talked to himself, and had arguments with himself. I knew who Allen Bennett was a little, I mean I watched The History Boys and that was good, but I wasn't obsessed with him, and he has a very particular writing style as it sets him apart from any writer. After this film, I think I can say he's gonna become a fast favorite. 

I loved Alex Jennings he was so good at being the tolerant neighbour of Mary. When I saw searching for who directed it, and in it I notice allot of them did allot of work in theatre. Which was really good, as it showed for me a different side to a director's vision. Nicholas Hytner who directed it did alot of theatre and opera work plus he directed the theatre plays of The History Boys and The Lady In The Van. It was refreshing to watch a film with a director who mainly did theatre work, to do a film. 

All the cameos of The History Boys were brilliant, especially as we all know James Corden is this big star now. This film really is brilliant, the story of the lady is so intriguing and wonderful. Its a beautifully written story that I love very much. I'll do a post tomorrow on the last day of 2016! and I shall speak to you all very soon!

I Love Disney

Sorry for lack of posts, things happen Christmas is next week! Thats gonna happen wow its just gone so quickly massive shock. So we're gonna talk about one of my favorite things and thats Disney! and as my last post got abit serious and after I watch Gummo I actually went on a Disney Movie spree, as they also feel very christmasy just me? okay. But I'm gonna talk about my favorite Disney Films, and characters also the lessons they taught me.

Bambi

This film, ahh this film I love it so much. The songs are so pretty and amazing and the fact the animals makes me so happy. I mean I love animals and this film is part of the reason as to why I talk to animals. Obvious the dead mother part is horrific, but I love the animation and the fact that it was made in the 1940s is amazing, as without the beginning of Disney we wouldn't get Frozen and Pixar and all the marvelous things Disney has to offer. All the animals are incredible I love Bambi, Thumper they're all so silly and adorable. 

Honey I Shrunk The Kids

This film makes me feel really festive I say this as everytime I watch this its around the festive christmas period. The dialogue is witty and to the point, but the characters are wonderfully well written. It has the fantastic Rick Moranis as the father who is an inventor and makes a machine, his children and neighbours use it and suddenly they're shrunken. As we all know Rick Moranis is pretty much the face of the 80s films so its automatically an amazing film. I loved the ant they rode, and the giant biscuit, I wanted to each it.

   
A Goofy Movie

I think everyone in the Mickey Mouse Club who I love, and hold a special place in my heart was Goofy, Now i do love Mickey and Minnie and Pluto of course, but I mean Goofy for me just stole my heart and totally let him and love that he did. I loved how funny and well goofy he is, he didn't really take himself seriously at the same time in this film he showed a different side that we don't normally see, and I love this film so much and Goofy in particular.

Pocahontas

Pocahontas is actually one of my favorite Princesses, as she's kind, courageous and amazing with animals, and an outstanding voice. Little fact from Zara actually the song Colours of the Wind was my go to song for any audition, and it remains and still is, one of my favorite songs of all time. I adore Pocahontas as a character and I can relate to her so much, during the time of making this film at the same time The Lion King was made and more money and people wanted to be on Pocahontas, as people thought it would be better and more successful. But The Lion KIng ended up making more money, but I still adore and love Pocahontas.

The Aristocats

We all know how much I love cats, and this film has talking cats, and talking kittens and they sing really well! The film is so amazing and proves that cats are better than humans, it shows cats of all backgrounds and breeds. The music is so funny and catchy, just listen to 'Everybody wants to be a cat' and it will be stuck in your head all day. I can understand why people are abit 'eh' with this film, as it involves cats and theres a bit where a cat is singing in a chinese accent, on the piano and doing it with chopsticks. But if you don't take it seriously then its barrel of laughs.

Big Hero 6

This film is actually a bit serious, for kids as it deals with grief but its so amazing and heartwarming. It deals with science, and being creative at the same time its so wonderful. Its actually one of my favorite films of all time, I love Baymax, and Hero, Honey Lemon. They're all so funny, and witty I just love it so much. It actually made me cry while I was watching it, as I can relate to it so fully. 

This will not be the last time I will talk about Disney, and Pixar. As the year of 2017 will be the year of many posts and all my favorite things. Plus this Friday Review will be the last 2016 film I'll watch, what I mean by that is 2016 release. Not all together, but I'm very much looking forward to 2017 not only for this blog, but the whole year.
