Peppermint Friday Review #41: Life Is Beautiful

Life Is Beautiful is an interesting one, as it a World War II concentration Romantic Comedy. I know those two things should not be in the sentence and it sounds like it shouldn't work but it does. 

Its directed by Robert Benigni who also stars in it as Guido the main character, the story is based on Rubino Romeo Salmoni true life I say based but I'm pretty sure its not word for word. The story is about Guido who is a funny charismatic man, who falls inlove with Dora (played by Nicoletta Braschi) at the beginning she is engaged to a man who's horrible and big-headed. Soon she doesn't love him anymore and falls in love with Guido and they get married and have a son called Giouse. World War II breaks out all of them are sent to a concentration camp, Dora is separated from her husband and son, but Guido trys to pull stunts and pranks to get messages sent to Dora. Guido tells Giouse that this whole thing is a game and they have to reach 1000 points, Guido puts himself at risk to save Dora and Giouse. 

I love Roberto Benigni already, he is just a genius and so funny I'd describe him as the Italian version of Kenneth Branagh where he directs his own stuff and gives himself a main role. I can understand with this film if it offended some people or before it was released people were humming and ahing on whether it was the right choice to make. Simply because the concentration camps and World War II are very sensitive subjects to some people, and to portray it like a joke I can completely understand. But with this story its simply a story of a father who wants to protect his son, and wants his son to not hate anyone because if he told Giouse what was actually going on and its not a game, it would change Giouse's outlook on life/people and his dad. 

One of my favorite moments of the film was the scene in which Guido was translating what the German Soldier was saying was the funniest thing ever, as Guido was trying to ease the tension and make his son laugh, because whatever happens he wants his son to remember to keep smiling no matter what, which is a very positive thing to enforce. Giouse was wonderful to watch, I googled the actor to find out if he's still doing acting but I think the acting career stopped from when he was a child, which is a shame. Roberto Benigni and Nicoletta Braschi were fantastic to watch with such beautiful chemistry not a surprise really as they are both married. 

Another moment I love and shows Guido dedication towards taking care of his son. When Guido wants him to get mixed with the German kids as they are treated much better than when he's at the concentration camp but tells him to say nothing. There's bit where Guido is serving the Germans and the kids and Giouse says 'Grazie' and its a shock as they'll find out he's not German but a Jew, but Guido quickly tries to resolve to situation by teaching the kids Italian. 

                                                                   
This film is a wonderful story, of a man who wants the best for his son and wife its a sad but happy ending as he set out to do the thing he intended to in the first place, which is family at first. I loved how different this film is compared to other films about concentration camps and World War II as it was more about family and love than the history of it itself. You should definitely give this film a watch as its so wonderful, and shows life is beautiful yup I had to throw that in there. I'll see you all later and have great day/weekend wherever you are.

Peppermint Friday Review #30: All About Eve

We're gonna talk about All About Eve as its so good and has the fabulous Bette Davis along with a brief appearance from Marilyn Monroe, and this is a film that I've mentioned before, and I'm gonna talk about it in full detail. Plus I saw this film mention in a Buzzfeed post and it was about films with the sub-text of lesbianism, so why not talk about it.

The story is about a woman called Eve played by Anne Baxter and she is this young, beautiful starlet who loves an actress called Margo Channing played by Bette Davis, and she is this huge Broadway star, who is worried that her nearing 40 will result in her decline in popularity. Eve becomes Margo's assistant and adores Margo, as Margo likes her until she starts to become more jealous of Eve as she tries on her costumes and overtime she becomes Margo understudy, and Margo is more paranoid. 

I love this film, although any Bette Davis film is a winner for me so its not a surprise. But this film is in Bette Davis's later career as Of Human Bondage is her when she's a lot younger, and there are differences in the characters she played but it's practically the same woman just abit older and a difference in accent dialect. As she was English in Of Human Bondage and was her usual American in All About Eve. You could look at the character similar to that of Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulevard the film and the musical. With it being this ageing starlet and someone may or not be taking advantage of her, in this case I don't believe Eve is taking advantage of Margo, I think she is genuine.

Love Anne Baxter as Eve, as she wasn't a stereotypical crazy fangirl or some spoilt cow she was just a normal girl who liked a play and the actress in it and wanted to meet her and perhaps be as good as her. It was all played very naturalistic and that the problem some people have in the modern age about classic films, people just think all the actors can't act and they stilll think they're on stage shouting making things huge. Yes that does happen but its not every film, like with some films now, some are good, some are just awful, nothing's changed but everything's changed if that makes sense. 

With this film, and with all Bette Davis films I feel, theres a sub-text of sarcastic, sardonic humour with at the same time it being very real and naturalistic and not over the top. As with the 50s I'm guessing it was either I Love Lucy, Musicals and Slapstick Clown Comedy or you were a Bette Davis or a Shirley Maclaine kinda person which is great as you've got the best of both worlds. In terms of costume again just brilliantly done, love how they matched each costume to each particular character like with Bette Davis's character yes she is a bitter woman, but that doesn't mean she has to look awful. 

 In terms of the plot of the story its all understandable as to why she became jealous and envious of Eve as it literally turned into 'All About Eve' and Margo obviously was like 'Aren't I good enough?' I love that with this film when it was made and released it had a young Marilyn Monroe before she did any big films, like before we knew we she really was and after she became a big star they put her name in the poster of the film even though she has one scene in the whole film. 

It kinda turned into a Tall Poppy scenario really as those of you who don't know what that means its basically, when someone or a band wants to do really well in something and someone goes 'I want them to do well, go them!' and they do and are successful and that same person goes 'you've changed, you can't do that' Its the whole 'you can do well and succeed but not as good as me' and that's something we're all at fault with, being jealous of someone's success. Its a backstabbing kinda thing in this film as well, as you've got Margo who's finally found this amazing woman she can be friends with in her stream of life at her age. Then suddenly it seems like Eve was only being friends with her for success, as if there was something in it for her. 

                                                             
Nearing the end of the film the pattern starts again, where Eve gets a very nice fan who wants to be like her. This film is about letting go of the thing you love the most, its about jealousy of being young and beautiful, its about knowing what's geniune and whats not. Its a film that tackles with alot emotions that we as human comprehend and the fact that this was made in the 1950s and is still relevant I feel today, as again we all experience jealousy and letting go of something, theres a quote somewhere ''When it's over leave. Don't continue watering a dead flower'. That's very true in this film, I'm gonna go now and I hope you have a good weekend. 

Peppermint Friday Review #24: Pulp Fiction

I think to end this week with one of my favorite films, is a good way to end it plus its just so Peppermint Friday. I love Quentin Tarantino and I know he's either you love him or hate him, and the content he creates may not be for people under a certain age, but silly 14 year old me who didn't listen to my teacher, as we were talking about films, and he mentioned this film and told me not to watch it as its pretty dark, but I didn't listen and boy I'm glad I didn't, and here's why.

Pulp Fiction is told in a narrative structure, at the beginning its a prologue which is in a diner with a couple having a pretty boring conversation. It combines with two hitmen Jules Winnfield and Vincent Vega who are both played by Samuel L Jackson and John Travolta, and Vincent is asked to take care of Mia Wallace, Marsellus wife. Theres a Boxer called Butch played by Bruce Willis accepts money from Marsellus who just so happens to be Jules and Vincent's boss.

The story is so hard to explain, its one of those films you have to watch as its hard to explain, and the storyline is so intricate because Quentin's storytelling is so brilliant, to have someone telling you the plot is so crap to how it is when you actually watch it, its a million times better than someone explaining it to you. That's how I feel with Tarantino films anyway, its one of those things where you just have to watch it to understand it. Tarantino's storytelling is so unique and wonderful, I love how in this film he told it like you would in a novel where you have a prologue, and all the character intertwine with each other and it all makes sense. 

John Travolta and Samuel L Jackson are just brilliant I mean you can't beat them they are just fantastic. Before this film I knew who these actors were, I had a John Travolta in my mind as Danny from Grease but in this film he is quite an average guy, that sounds mean, but comparing him to Danny he is. Samuel L Jackson is so mental in this, I adore him so much. I actually don't know whether to be scared of him or to just laugh along with him. His character does prop up alot in Social Media as a meme so the character is quite a familiar face in the modern age. 

Uma Thurman is a fantastic actress, her costume, her hair, her makeup, her everything is just so perfect and down to a T as to how damaged she is and intriguing qualities to Mia. I mean everyone wants a Mia Wallace haircut at one point let's face it. What does inritate me slightly is that Uma is a fantastic actress, but I haven't seen her in that many stuff. I know she was in a few other Tarantino films, such as Kill Bill Volume 1 & 2, Batman and Robin, Les Miserable. I guess that could be me, it probably is just me the fact that I haven't seen her in many films. 

Bruce Willis is again brilliant, love all the scenes with him and his girlfriend Fabienne particularly those as they stand out to me, and relfect his character the most. Especially when Fabienne forgets to pack his watch, and he just loses it I don't know why but I like it. I remember watching a Simpsons episode and it referenced a scene in Pulp Fiction, and as a kid I watched it then and thought nothing of it, but now that I've seen this film that scene has a whole new meaning to it. One thing I'm so excited to see and just dive into is that Quentin Tarantino has stated that he is gonna retire after making 10 films and he has made about 8 or 9 I think, and people have asked what he's gonna do as he isn't gonna be filmmaking. He's said in interviews that he's gonna write books and make the films he's made into plays, so a Pulp Fiction play, that's something I need to watch and be in. 

 The couple at the beginning of the film are just fantastic, at the beginning you don't think too much about them, like 'yeah okay cool' but as you get to know then, particularly in the last scene in which they appear, thats when shit breaks the fan. Its funny with all the characters in this film you'd think there must be one I hate, and yeah the couple I do like but they do annoy me ever so slightly, not sure why they do, they just do. Its wonderful that the film so brilliant ties everyone together and makes it so exciting to watch.                                                                                                                                                     

This film will knock your socks off, and will no doubt be unique and wonderful to watch and unlike anything you have seen before. Its a Cult Classic you'll see people dressing as the characters whether it be for Halloween/Fancy Dress or for a screening of the film. People have played parodies to the film, homages. Its such a brilliant film, with a strong fan base and possibly my favorite Tarantino film. 

Review: Taxi Driver

Whenever I think of top directors and they're films, its usually Martin Scorsese for Taxi Driver. Its a very I feel an adult film not in that way, just with the violence, swearing and minor flirty sex scenes with Jodie Foster in her first proper role playing a prostitute, Robert DeNiro playing this lonely almost insane Taxi Driver, you can tell this film is not a happy go lucky type of film. 

I think everyone knows this film, but I just wanna talk about it as I love it so much and I think its my favorite Martin Scorsese film. The film is about this man called Travis Bickle played by Robert DeNiro who is discharged marine, he is lonely lives in New York and takes up a job as a Taxi Driver to help him cope with his insomnia. He meets various people during his job, like Betsy who he ends up going on a date with, Iris or 'Easy' the child prostitute played by Jodie Foster, who is trying to escape her pimp Matthew 'Sport' played by Harvey Keitel. 

This film is a hard film to watch, I say that as I actually watched it twice, once when I was about 15 and again a few months ago. The first time I watched it I thought 'yeah okay whatever' and I don't know why I watched it again but I'm glad I did, as I probably watched it wrong the first time, and I know that sounds so bad and I hate it when people say 'oh you didn't watch it right' because how can you watch something wrong? But I guess I was 15 so I didn't understand it as such but now I like it. Which proves that if you don't like something the first time, doesn't mean you'll still feel that way the second time. 

 Jodie Foster was fantastic in this film, I heard many rumours that she had to see a Shrink before she was aloud to be in this film, but regardless if they're true or not. She is such a stand out in this role, she carries it like an actress, a true actress not a child actress and it's fairly obvious from this performance she was gonna be a big star. Robert De Niro and Harvey Keitel are both brilliant in this film, I mean they can do no wrong its an iconic film with iconic actors who say the dialogue how it should be said. 

One thing that I love about this film is the costumes, I adore the New York Fashion from the 70's its so casual and yet so dressy and its even trying to hard to look good. The 70's in terms of films were I feel anyway, quite a difficult year to watch, as you will hardly get a silly fun comedy to watch, It was all about the anti-heros and really hard hitting storylines and dialogue that wasn't used that much, like swearing I don't think many writers would put swearing in they're scripts until the 70s and this film does make me think of the 70's in fashion and filmmaking. 

Robert De Niro portrayed a man on what I believe to be an emotional breakdown. He does it so effortlessly its natural, as an audience you get worried for this man's health and well being which is great. I like that with this film its a main character who is internally good but can be a bit crazy especially in the end, its good I feel to have the main being good and also bad, as that can be relatable I guess. Its also nice to watch a character who is unlike anyone and you can't relate at all and you're away from the world and sucked into another world, a world you can't relate to. 

Overall this is such a fantastic film, its 70s I feel through and through. Its Martin Scorsese and Robert De Niro and young Jodie Foster. I mean you can't go wrong its just an iconic classic film, that every needs to watch. I will talk to you all on Wednesday for a special post largely focusing on directors and they're classic films. 

Peppermint Friday Review #20: Brazil

This film is actually in my top 10 of all my favorite films, at the moment as the list will no doubt change. Not because I hate them but different films will effect you at different times, and suddenly they become your favorite of that time. This film is actually really funny, because someone told me to watch this film and I didn't the first time and now I feel really bad because Its really good. So I'm sorry for not listening to you the first time, its great.

The story takes place in a dystopian future, and its about a man called Lawry who is at the bottom of working in the government, he daydreams and has dreams of him saving a woman and they are very frequent and abstract. One day while he's at work something gets jammed in his printer someone called Tuttle played by Robert De Niro who is an outlaw in a way and helps him. Lawry gets swooped in to Tuttle's world, and starts to work his way to a higher position. Safe to say Lawry gets in a boat load of trouble very quickly, and his dreams effect that.

From the pictures and the outlook from someone who's never seen this film, will think that this film is weird you wouldn't like, but seriously watch it because you'll be surprised. One thing that I loved about this film was that the world that they created. Its just ridiculous and I love that, one of the characters who really stands out for me is Ida Lawry who is Lawry's mother and she is obsessed with plastic surgery and its hilarious and the stuff she comes out with is just crackers.

The comedy in this film is what really does it for me, a favorite moment is when Lawry is with Jil and he sees his mother and she picks up these thongs and goes 'Do you think I'll look nice in these?' its just crackers and fantastic comedy. For a Sci-Fi its very good, I love the use of plastic surgery and the idea of being perfect being important in the film. The inventions of the shower, and computers, cars are just brilliant. As this film was made in the 80s I guess they must of thought we're gonna have these in 2017 or something obviously we don't yet...

I get a very 1984 feeling from this film, if you've read 1984 or watched the film you'll know what I'm talking about. I say that as its the future, its a different world and different people with different attitudes on things. The pressure of things and dictatorship of it all is just brilliant for the flavour of the film and what it all means. The dreams Lawry has are just crackers again, like all dreams are they make no sense but make sense all together. I love that there is a theme of the dreams he is consistently having, of him being chivalrous and saving a woman. Then he meets her in real life, and its like fate.

I must admit I was abit like 'whatever' about Jill at first, then in the ride with Lawry thats when I liked her. She was just brilliant, and so individual in terms of how she was and she was very neutral as a character and Lawry wasn't he was seen as quite weak even in his dreams he wants to be the man. Even by his own mother she encourages him to go bigger for work and he is very 'in in' and he does but for him it isn't enough. The actors in this film are brilliant, Robert De Niro was amazing as Tuttle although I personally would've love to see more of him. 

                                                              
Johnathan Pryce and Kim Gresist have such brilliant chemistry and are fantastic it was very naturalistic approach to an absurd dystopian world. Love Ian Richardson and Michael Palin as Lawry's new boss and co-worker particularly Ian as he did the part of the busy, quick talking boss amazingly. He reminded me of the reporter for the Daily Bugle in Spiderman. Overall this film was brilliant too watch its so unique in its stylising and comic timing, and wonderful script. 

Favorite Teen Films

Teen films are a genre of itself entirely, like whether it'd be something thats hilarious or real-life teen drama, thats #relatable LOL OMFG😂😀✌either way its all brilliant.

Heathers

This film is actually one of my favourites, as its a dark comedy and makes something as dark as a sociopath who wants to kill everyone and pass it off as a suicide into a comedy of sorts. Its been made into a musical which I believe is brilliant, and I need it to be in the UK so I can watch it, and its a fantastic story and I loved it. Again like Clueless I love the costumes, I do have a thing as you all know with 80s films, and it has Wiona Rider and Christian Slater.

Mean Girls

I do feel that everyone has that 'film must see' list and Mean Girls is one of them. Its so so funny, and witty everyone is brilliant in this film and with its very quotable lines, its such a staple film. WIth most of these films the theme is teen as in the main character is a teenager, but also its a comedy feel and kinda dark. Everyone has a favorite character in, I love Janis, and Regina, Damian everyone in the films is brilliant, and the comic timing is fantastic. The film also has alot deep and sincere moments.

The Breakfast Club

Now I know that this will obviously be on everyone's list, but it is amazing and I love it. It does have the ending in a 'we all learned something way' if you like it not, its a memorable film. I love the whole different cliques and we aren't different in a way, again this film is very aesthetically pleasing to watch, as with the costumes and the school its just so perfectly satisfying to watch. Each of the characters are unique but also not the typical sterotypes, and over exaggerateded and flawed.

Angus Thongs and Perfect Snogging

I think this film was the first film that I could talk to girls about at school, as there were books on the film and it was so funny, and relatable. It goes into the life of Georgia Nicholson her friends, and life in Eastbourne, surrounding boys, and taking magazines and books way to seriously and not focusing on her own instincts when it comes to dating. But I love the funny bits in the film, a golden moment for me is when Georgia has her first 'snogging session' with a guy from school, who does this like a service, kinda like a borderline prostitute not that thats a bad thing. 

The Inbetweeners Movie

Oh this film, also note how I put two British films in this list, one more so for girls and a slightly younger audience and another being more aimed at boys, and more for the older teenagers.I'm talking about the first because I do prefer it. I love this film the series was brilliant, and I loved watching this film and the series, because for me it was the first thing I watched that was rude, and I felt a tiny bit sneaky watching this when I was 12. Its so funny and everyone has a favourite character or a character that they think they are like the most. I love Neil and Simon because they both have such tragic and amusingly funny to watch lives. I'm also glad that they stopped the Inbetweeners at the last film when they on a Gap year in Australia, as it would've looked abit weird if they carried on at like 30 (even though the actors are 30), but it would still look weird if they carried on acting like teenagers.                                                                          

Rebel Without A Cause

Everyone knows how I feel about James Dean, and a post talking about Teen Films wouldn't be complete without talking about this amazingly handsome man. Its abit more serious than the last ones, as its about teenage crime and being this rebel obviously without a cause, and the whole angsty teenager. But this film is the reason why so many films now have allot of teenage main protagonists, with James Dean being this bad boy destroyed poet Jim Stark. Natalie Wood is amazing in this film aswell, she was about 16 or so when the film was made and James was in his 20s. But the chemistry they have is outstanding, they did do this very little stage play when James was very new to film acting and Natalie played her first 'adult role'. 

Favourite Comedies

I'm weird when it comes to comedies, as I love TV Comedies much more than film, because that way you get a chuckle every week. I love Comedians like Ricky Gervais, Simon Pegg, Michael McIntyre, I also love comics like Charlie Chaplin, The Marx Brothers. I like everything really. 

Hot Fuzz

This was probably the first Simon Pegg film I watched and I knew him from watching Spaced. I love it as it was the first satire comedy film I watched. It just took the piss out of policeman and it took the piss out of a very English town and the people in it. I've said this before but its amazing that they put Simon Pegg who plays the main character as another writer along with the director Edgar Wright. It's a dark comedy and I love dark comedies, I love how sarcastic it is. You'll notice with this there's gonna be alot of British Sarcastic Films.

School Of Rock

Again this is one of the first films I remember watching, I loved it simply because it's about music, and rock. I watched this film with my dad for the first time, as most of my family are into music in some way, so the film reminds of that in a way which is nice. I love Jack Black and Joan Cusack in it, they're such a good couple, a sentence in which I never imagined I'd say.                                                        


Love Happy

I love the Marx Brothers and I think this is the only Marx Brothers, it has Marilyn Monroe in, but only as a bit part in. Then she went on to become this big star and put her name in the poster to drill up more publicity for the film. The Marx Brothers were perhaps the first comic act to have that brotherhood comradery of just funny joking around not taking themselves too seriously. I know that its pretty normal for that sort of comedy to happen now, like The Inbetweeners. Back then it was very new. I love this film it's so witty, and brilliant, although I won't say too much as I will be writing a post all about Comedy of that time very soon!

Run Fatboy Run

Another Simon Pegg film what a surprise, I love this film because it portrays running in such a funny way, as it can be seen as this strict agile military way of a sport. But it doesn't have to be, I love the way its shown. The scene when Dennis gets a blister is the funniest thing in the world, as its so true on so many levels when it comes to blisters, but also totally ridiculous.  

Bruce Almighty

Now this film is something, first and foremost I love Jim Carrey who doesn't? I love the fact that Morgan Freeman's in it I love the fact that its taking something thats usually serious like religion and turning funny. I love Jim Carrey I've seen some of his stand up work and its brilliant.

This post has been hard as I prefer TV Comedies, than Film Comedies I could of done a post of TV instead of Film but this blog is called 'PeppermintFriday-FilmReviews' note the Film. I know what your gonna say 'but its your blog you can do what you want' yes that alone is true but, I'd feel bad for that. But maybe I will do a post on TV, one day.

Review: Young Frankenstein

I was going to do a review of a different film, but then I thought it is actual Halloween I watched this film again last night, and well why not.

The film is like a parody of Mary Shelley's book Frankenstein which is timeless classic. Young Frankenstein is about a man called Dr Frankenstein or should I say Fronkensteen who inherits his great-grandfather's house in Transylvania, he then meets his servant Igor, or should I say eye-gor. Its discovered that Dr Frankenstein's grandfather was doing experiments on raising the dead, Dr Frankenstein then decides to carry on his grandfathers work.

This film is such a big favourite of mine, I love the fact that its so witty and quick but at the same time its so dramatic and mental. The dialogue between Igor and Frankenstein is electric they just bounce off eachother so brilliantly, Frankenstein is played by Gene Wilder who is such a legend and eloquently spoken man. Igor is played by Marty Feldman who has done loads of work in television. Gene Wilder also wrote the screenplay along with the director Mel Brooks. 

Frankenstein also has a wife Elizabeth who is the straight one in this film, as its a comedy they did stick by the rule of funny mad one, funny nice one and as always there has to be a straight one to make it even funnier. Not only that they also stuck by the classic horror, as Frankenstein is traditionally a horror, and traditionally in many horrors theres usually a young woman who's very pretty and quite often screaming. Its traditional but also very modern the humour for me is very quick witted, totally original but also still keeping to the story and the essence of Frankenstein. 

Theres not a whole lot negative about this film, as I don't think I've met anyone who hates this film or has anything negative to say about it, its either they've seen it and loved it or never seen it. Its wonderfully written and still remaining true, and plays homage to the Mary Shelley classic. Some of the lines in the film are absolute classics and are crackers. I think it really helped that Gene Wilder co-wrote the screenplay as he does play the title role, and it makes the lines and timing of it all just much more natural. 

I strongly urge you to watch this film, as its such a timeless classic film. With Gene Wilder you should definitely own a copy of this film.

Peppermint Friday Film Review #7: The Raven

I feel like this week is all about Vincent Price, well for a good reason as he is an amazing actor and anytime someone says 'Horror!' he is the first person I think of.

This film is based of the Edgar Allen Poe poem 'The Raven' its about a doctor called Erasmus Craven who is played by Vincent Price is visited by a Raven and as it turns out the Raven is a wizard known as Dr Bedlo, then they help to make a potion to turn him back to a human again.

I first heard this story when it was retold in 'The Treehouse Of Horror' Simpsons episode, Then I loved it because it was funny, and unique then I read the poem and watched the film, I love the cast of this film even more as it's a got a young Jack Nicholson he stars as Dr Bedlo's son Rexford. Its wonderful to see him so young and play a character thats so unlike any part that we see him being so welll known for. The original text by Edgar Allen Poe is much more darker and sinister. Which is why I love the fact that with this film its told as a Dark Comedy, its such a clever concept of an idea turning it into another idea. 

The dialogue is amazing and so slapstick, theres alot of typically funny and amusing lines like 'oh whats the worst that could happen?' then *BOOM*. I love the characters, they so amusing and entertaining. Its a joy to watch, Vincent Price's character is like a mixture of Merlin and Tim Curry combined I know its totally bizarre to compare Vincent with Tim Curry but there is a similarity. But I will talk about that for another time as its such an interesting thing to deal with. I love the fact that Roger Corman who directed and produced the film, on a budget of $350,000. Its nice that its not flashy, its a good script and a group of talented actors, I've said this before. 

This film is fantastic as for me, I mentioned this in my previous post but I mentioned that I prefer Horror with another genre on to it. Horror with a twist, because I do love horror as a genre but when its got abit of Comedy to it I just like it more. It makes it much more edgier I reckon, because we can all be serious but making a situation from a tense scenario to something that can be quite witty, rather than it being a scary tense bull in a china shop is much more for me. Although with saying that I do like a good thriller and 'on the edge'  kinda film, but It does depend upon the mood I'm in, so I guess its not totally accurate. I love Dr Bedlo, when he's the Raven as its just bonkers, the dialogue when he's a bird is so funny.
